The past will creep up to get you. Echos from the past.

Yesterday after I finished with the painting of my ceiling fan I decided to sit down with the next book that was downloaded on my kindle. Echos From the Past - Grace Brannigan, which happened to be the next one on the list. I try and make my way down the list from the first page to last. Some of the books I have downloaded have been on there since, well before I had a kindle and I was downloaded them to my computer app for the kindle. That is where you can get books for the kindle even if you don't have a kindle at the moment, but want one.

So this book is about Christie, a child from an abusive home growing up, and Garrett, an ex-rodeo and former husband to one of Christie's sisters.

Christie is on her way to find her older sister Judith with an address in which her sister had written from 2 years before. When she has pulled into the drive of the address she had, she sees a little girl crawling out of the high grass. The little girl is trying to check a kitten when a hay truck is coming down the road, the same road Christie is parked on and the same road in which the girl is standing. Christie yells at the girl to get out of the road, but the girl stands frightened staring at the truck, which was trying to brake but couldn't since the brakes weren't working. Before she knows it Christie is running to grab the girl and taking them both onto the ground out of the way of the truck and the truck swerves to hit the car Christie had been driving plowing it right into a ditch.

Garrett hear the ruckus and came to see what was going on. When he seen that his daughter was involved he almost couldn't breathe. He grabbed his daughter to make sure she was okay. Then he noticed Christie. He wasn't sure who she was until she asked about Judith, even then he didn't know who she was. It wasn't until she told him that she was Judith's sister.

That is when Christie had found out that not only had she lost one older sister, Ellen, who died 3 months prior to her showing up at Garrett's farm, but she lost her other older sister that she never got to know, since Judith had left home at age 15. Just like Christie did.

Does Christie get to know her niece? Does Christie ever find out how her sister she never knew died? Does she leave once she gets through with what she came to do? Find out by reading Echos From the Past - Grace Brannigan.

Thank you for reading. Enjoy every minute of every day. Keep watch for the next read!

You've don it now... Be good.

Before I finish painting the used ceiling fan we got this past weekend, since I am waiting for the coat I finished to dry, I figured I would get the info on what I read last night. I did get through my kindle and when I finally was able to open up a book that is what I read. Wasn't the book I had been planning, but Be Good - Dakota Madison was a good book to sit and read in a few hours after the kids had gone to bed. I got it for free on amazon.com in the kindle download section. It was really good for me to sit and read from 10 p.m. until who knows what time. By the time I finished I was tired and couldn't stay awake long enough to report on it then. For all I know it would have been 3 a.m. EST.

So the book is about a woman, Anna, and a guy, Brett. Anna is rebellious even at age 23. Brett is geek type guy who went to work for NASA right out of college. At the age of 12 Anna started doing things like having sex and drinking long before most should. She would sneak out and get into trouble. Her parents had taken her to counseling, but she didn't want the help so none of it worked for her.

In college she majored in communications and ended up working for her older brother as a paralegal.

Along came Brett. They had attended the same wedding, in which Anna was a bridesmaid. She had gotten so drunk that she had seduced Brett and gone back to his room with him. She couldn't remember a thing. Brett is a guy who never drinks because of something that is held deep in his past.

After that Anna gets on Facebook to see if Brett had an account for one and then she requested him to be her friend. She wasn't sure if he would accept her since he had been mad that she couldn't remember the night she had. Plus it hadn't been the first time she couldn't remember. Everyone around her knew what kind of person she was. She liked her one-night stands. she liked drinking.

To find out if she kept up with one-night stands and drinking, to know if her and Brett end up together, you will have to download the book and read it yourself. Be Good - by Dakota Madison.

Thank you for reading and watch for the next. Good day lovely readers.

What? Triplets?! The Baby Jackpot

I was going to read something else off my kindle, but because I have so many books on there of all kinds I can't open it until I go through it and put things in folders and delete some stuff off the homepage. How fun! Not really, but it has to be done. So I after getting tired of trying to figure out my Windows 8 kindle stuff I when got a book I had bought from my local Kmart, oh say about a month of so ago. It is called The Baby Jackpot - by Jacqueline Diamond. It is a Harlequin American Romance. Part of the Safe Harbor Medical series.

So this is not the first book in this series. This is about Stacy Layne and Cole Rattigan. Stacy is a surgical nurse and Cole is a fertility surgeon. Stacy had decided to donate her eggs to a couple that was having trouble conceiving a child on their own. Since she was on hormones she was specifically told not to have unsafe sex until after her monthly girl time.

The evening of her birthday Stacy decides to go out to a new club that opened in town. Cole and some of the other surgeons and surgical nurses were there. She was dancing with a drunk, Laird, nurse or surgeon. Cole steps in to rescue her from him, but before he can she tries to get away from Laird and bumps into Cole, knocking him over. He sprains his knee in the process. Stacy drives him to his apartment where she assists him up the stairs. Even helps him wrap his knee with ice on it. He invites her to watch a movie with him and have ice cream. They both fell asleep on the couch and in the midst the both woke up and even though they were both still in a sleep like trance of a sorts they did the deed and unprotected at that.

A few weeks later Stacy she finds herself pregnant to Cole. He wants to take care of her, but since she had already been through a horrible divorce she didn't want to get married. Her first thought was to give the baby up for adoption. Of course she wasn't sure if there was only one baby to give up. When on hormones for something like an egg harvest, a woman can produce multiple eggs resulting in a multiple pregnancy. In Stacy's case triplets.

Does Stacy and Cole ever fall in love? Do they ever decided to keep the baby? Find out by reading the book for yourself. I'm sure kindle has a download, but mine is not from there. I hope those who read it enjoy as much as I do.

Not sure of the next read, or when I will be done with the next one. Depends how quickly I get everything moved around on my kindle to open a book.

Thank you for reading. Questions, comments, recommendations welcome.

Really... I'm not her

I finished the kindle download of I'm Not Her - Janet Gurtler just minutes ago. I usually will get the my opinion out right after I finish reading whatever it is I am reading at the time, only because I want to remember everything I have read and what I actually thought about the book before it gets lost in my mommy-mind of every day chores and whatnot.

So this first person narrative is about a fifteen year old girl named Tess Smith. She is a very smart girl in school. She has her mind set on her getting into the Honor Society. She also decides to enter an art contest to win a scholar ship to an art school. Every thing is going as planned.

That is until one day when her sister, Kristina, goes to a doctors appointment and learns she has Osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Her sister gets depressed and doesn't go back to school and turns all her friends away that she had at school. That in turn makes everyone flock to Tess just to find out what is going on with her sister. Tess at first was told by her sister not to disclose anything to her sister's friends. It made Tess very awful for lying to everyone.

In the midst of all this one of the Seniors, Nick, starts hanging out with her. So does another boy, Clark, that is in Tess' class. Nick comes from a home with abuse. His father is a drunk. They live in a rundown small house. Clark is a smart kid as well as Tess. They are both trying to get into Honor Society. Clark notices that Tess hasn't been getting to all her classes and wonders why, but doesn't ask. He protects when Tess is able to tell Kristina's friends what is going on.

With her sister having cancer, she has to step up and be strong for her father who never comes home, and her mother who just goes crazy because the dreams her oldest daughter had and she wanted for her too are gone. Even more so when Kristina loses her leg.

What happens is Tess feels like she and her dreams of what she wants has been placed on the back burner because her sister comes first in the eyes of her parents. More so in the eyes of her mother, since her father is hardly around. She loses out on Honor Society because her mother asks her to miss classes to be with her sister at the hospital. Classes she needed to be in to get her homework assignments in order to complete them.

To find out where this story goes you will have to read it for yourself. I got my kindle download for free at amazon.com. Could still be free, who knows. Worth checking out.

I have to say this book touched me in more ways than one. It let me in to see what a couple of my family members might have experienced when they were fighting the cancers they had. a couple of the relatives are still alive. A few have passed away. Let me just say each time finding out a different person in my family had be told they had some type of cancer didn't make it any easier hearing the news. This is a hard subject to talk about. I'm sure I will come across a few more on my kindle with sort of the same subject. It might not be a YA/teen novel, but it could be in another genre of writing.

I would like to thank those who are taking the time to read everything I writing here. I have a major love for books. I get in trouble by my husband every time I bring in more books. He threatens playfully to burn them all.

Thank you for reading. Any questions, comments, or recommendations are welcome.

Promise me this at Promise Cove

I know it has been a few days since last post. With a family comes lots of running around. While I try and read as much as I can when I'm not busy, it is ball season for baseball, and I have nieces and nephews I go support, plus I love to just hang with my family and watch a good game. So now, after a few days of trying to read Promise Cove (A Pelican Novel) - Vickie McKeehan, I finally finished it about five minutes ago. Being that I am potty training my almost two-year-old daughter, it may take me a little longer to finish books than it did before. Sorry for any delays.

Okay, so reading this took me a while to get into it. First, this is a romance. Second this has a little bit of military stuff that is talked about. Third, this is a kindle download I got free from www.amazon.com. Most of the books I have been reading have been downloaded from there. If I don't have them on my kindle then they are actually books that I bought, mainly from Books A Million a.k.a B.A.M. Love the store. I love B&N too, but I spend more time at a mall that has B.A.M than I do in the opposite direction that has B&N.

So now the characters in the beginning are Scott Phillips, or should I say Cpt. Scott Phillips, and Scott Harris, or Lt. Scott Harris. It starts out in Iraq as they are traveling via Humvee to go where ever it is they were going when and IED explodes. And we all know where this maybe going. Phillips is telling Harris about life back home, his wife Jordan and their baby girl Hutton, when the IED goes off.

A year later Scott takes the trip from his home town, after recovering from a war wound, in L.A. up to Pelican Pointe to visit with his late Captains wife and daughter. He was only going to go up and explain to her what happened, then leave. As it turns out when he got there he found a mess. One in which he couldn't just turn away from and leave. Instead of telling her about knowing Scott, he helps Jordan fix up the bed and breakfast that she is trying to open in living out her late husband's dream.

As the days and weeks progress things turn and feeling come up that neither was expecting. And if you want to know how it all goes you will have to download the book yourself and read it.

For me though it took me a bit to get into it. Let's just say that at first I thought it would be a good story, then as I read I would start to get bored reading it, but then just as I would get ready to take it back to the home page and just delete and forget about it, up would creep a good part that kept me reading it. All-in-all it is a good book. Just seemed like a slow read to start. It could be that I have just been so busy in regular life that it felt like a slow read. Al I can say is enjoy.

As they say at the end of Ghost Hunters on SYFY network "On to the next."  I believe the next one may be a teen/YA called I'm Not Her - Janet Gurtler.  I won't promise to actually finish it. If I can't finish it because it doesn't hold my interest I will let all my lovely readers know.

Thank you for reading. Questions, comments, and recommendations are welcome. I will read about almost anything that catches my interest, but not thrillers or scifi that has weird space people in them. I can handle vampires and werewolves, maybe some other fictional creature that may be out there, but space themed books and thrillers that have people being hacked up aren't my thing. Believe me I have tried them both, just don't get them. Sorry to those who write those kind of stories like Star Wars, Star Trek, or any others like that or anyone who writes things like James Patterson or Stephen King. Once again thank you for reading.

Seriously?! Never been dumped?

Last for today. Has anyone ever had a relationship with an expiration date already set? You know when it will end. Has it ever ended on a good note? Probably not. Of course Never Been Dumped by Lisa Scott is no different in that case.

This one starts out in a bar, which happens to be one of the bars that is talked about in all of the other stories, the Sundowner. Not the main, but one of the other ones. The female in this one, Rachel who is friends with the Brianna the one who was a wedding between a stepbrother and stepsister. Can you guess now that all these short stories are all connected?

Anyway, while Rachel is at the bar waiting on her one friend, Lindsey, to meet her to listen to a band play, a man comes up to her after noticing how many other guys she rejects to dance with. He tells her that he doesn't ask her to dance or buy her a drink, since she had a drink in front of her that she never even touched.

Drake, the man that comes up to her, asks why she keeps disappointing the men that come up to ask to dance. She tells him that she is tired of never being dumped. He gives a proposition of a set date when he will break it off with her if she will "date" him so she doesn't have to have a bunch of guys swarm her. Rachel agrees.

So for two months the date and spend a lot of time together getting to know each other. He plans to go off to Culinary school at the end of August and he doesn't do long distance relationships.

Once Drake realizes he is falling for Rachel he breaks it off and gets things taken care of and heads to Philly. Rachel, who has never been dumped, finally got a taste of what it is liked to be dumped. She didn't like it and she got depressed and broke down to allowing Lindsey set up a double date with Luke, a friend of Lindsey's boyfriend. She didn't like it that either.

From there you will have to read to find out the ending, but would you guess it would bring you back to the beginning of the to deal with the "Hot Girl." Can you guess who might be what the "Hot Girl" is looking for? Anyway you will have to read the whole book Flirt! 5 Romantic Short Stories - by Lisa Scott, found on amazon.com. I downloaded mine for free. It very well could be free. Couldn't hurt to check.

This whole book is funny, and keeps you wondering who is friends with who and who is going to fall in love who.

Be on the look out for other Flirts! by Lisa Scott. She has a collection of them that can be found on amazon.com. Also you can check out her website ReadLisaScott.com to learn more about her work.

Thank you for reading. As usually questions, comments, and read recommendations are welcome.

Where is he when you need him? Desperately Seeking Cupid

Forty-five minutes after finishing the blog about story three of Flirt! by Lisa Scoot I finished the fourth story in it called Desperately Seeking Cupid. The characters in this book are Brianna and Zach. As did the last one this one picks up at the same location the one before it left off.

Brianna has had bad luck with dating men. She hasn't had a long-term relationship since three years before. She is getting depressed going to weddings dateless or even be able to find a single man at the weddings to start dating. She is at the wedding of the woman in which she grew up next door to. There she meets a table full of single elderly ladies. One which specializes in redecorating with Feng Shui. The lady gives Brianna her card.

In the days that follow she still hasn't found a nice man, and the only ones that come up to her are what she calls losers. Brianna then calls Virginia, the Feng Shui decorator, to come and look and see if that is the problem. Virginia gives her some ideas and tells her how to make her apartment more open and whatnot for Feng Shui energy to flow. She then tells Brianna what store to go to buy all the stuff she needs for the love energy to flow. That is where Brianna meets Zach. Zach is the store owner. Because he doesn't not have everything she wants in stock is has to return a few times. She comes to like Zach and Zach in turn likes her.

Do you think they find love in each other? You will have to download Flirt! 5 Romantic Short Stories by Lisa Scott to read Desperately Seeking Cupid to find out.

I will post once again once I finish the last short story of Flirt! called Never Been Dumped by Lisa Scott. Download the whole book at amazon.com.

Thank you for reading. Comments, questions, reading recommendations welcome.

Oh no... Not you!

So it only took me about an hour give or take to read Not You - by Lisa Scott, another of the 5 short stories in Flirt! This one kept me laughing almost right from the start.

This takes place where the last one leaves off, which you have to read that to know more about that. Carly, female lead, is at a charity event when she is looking around at all the guys that are taken and hunting for a single guy to meet. She is getting crabbier with each couple she sees. Eventually, she goes out on the patio to get some fresh air and that is where she meets a man. Mind you she has been drinking and drinking a lot. She doesn't ask the guy his name, but does invite him to go home with her. She lets her friend know she is leaving and meets him in lobby.

They go to Carly's home for what they think is a one night stand giving the other fake names. Carly tells the guy her name is Samantha, and the guy tells her his name is Clark. The next morning she wakes up and hour before she has to be at her mother's wedding prep luncheon. She kicks Clark out.

When she arrives only minutes after she was to have been there she meets her new step-brother. When she the guy walking with the man to be her step-father she gives the fake name of Clark to her mother. Her mother tells her no his name is Rob.

They don't inform their parents that the already kind of know each or which way they know each other.

So to know where all this goes you will have to download Flirt! 5 Romantic Short Stories by Lisa Scott to be able to read Not You, which you can download at amazon.com.

Just so you know each story in this book seems to pick up just about where the last left off. So far they are good short stories. They kind of remind me of some that I have written, but mine aren't romantic ones. I hope if you decide to read this book of short stories that you enjoy it as much as I do.

Next up story three of Flirt!, which is Desperately Seeking Cupid. Thank you for reading. Comments, questions, recommended reads welcome!

Always wrong place wrong time or - Wrong Place, Right Man

Okay not too sure on the exact title of the the second short story in Flirt! - by Lisa Scott, but I do believe it is called Wrong Place, Right Man. It was kind of sweet, but awful way to have to meet the man of the main character's dreams.

So Kristen, main female character, is on her way to drop off a book filled with wall paper samples when she is attacked. When she is left standing there frozen with fear of the guy at first only wanted to rob, but after seeing how she looked probably had other things on her mind, just as she was about to get attacked out of nowhere a guy, Tony, flies and knocks the guy over. At least this is what the Kriste sees. She later finds out he had been working late up on the roof repairing it, when he over heard everything going on below and had to see what was going on and came to the rescue.

They then decide to meet for a drink and talk a little. After words she gives him her card, as she is a real estate agent, in case he changes his mind about getting medical attention that she believes he needs after fighting with her attacker.

When he doesn't call her the next day, she decides to take him lunch at the work site. After that he calls her and invites her to a concert, a concert that she was at first suppose to go to with a guy she was to have met the same night as the attack. Because she cancelled and decided she didn't want anymore blind dates that her sister kept setting her up on.

Kristen later meets some of Tony's friends, and after that things go down south.

To find out more you will have to get the download of Flirt! 5 Romantic Short Stories - Lisa Scott. This can be found in the kindle store on Amazon.

Thank you for reading and watch for story number 3 from the book.

Hey is that you friend over there? - The Hot Girl's Friend

The Hot Girl's Friend - Lisa Scott, was perpetually funny. Only took me about two hours give or take to read it.Given it is a short story it should only take about that long maybe shorter if there is no interruptions. I was plenty of times by my beautiful little lady while we were outside for her to play in the sun for a little bit.

Okay so Jane, main character, has what she calls a hot blond, curvy friend named Miranda. They meet when they were younger while they both were in the hospital getting treated for cancer. Ever since then they have been best friends. Jane doesn't believe that guys would think she is worth looking at when she is standing next to her six foot tall friend, against her five foot four inches. (I don't blame her I would feel the same way, if I had a friend like what she described against my five foot three inches.)

So the story starts out in a bar McGrinty's, and Jane is fending off the type of guys that Miranda wouldn't be interested in, when all these guys come up to Jane asking about her. That is where she meets Brady, the bartender. Brady questions why Jane gives the guys a bunch of funny lies as to why they don't want her friend. At first Jane thinks Brady wants to get with Miranda, but he informs that he has no interest in her. He then places a bet with Jane that he could get her dates in three weeks. If she wins she gets a tee-shirt saying "She's taken" and if he wins and she gets dates in the three time period Brady gets a tee-shirt saying "He's taken," which he wants because isn't really interested in dating and it would help fight off the girls that want to add bras to the collection that hangs in the bar.

Brady first invites her to his ball game of the bar league to watch him and his friends play. After the game they go to a pub and that is where she is first asked on a date, in which Brady makes an excuse as to why she can't go out with the guy. He does the same thing at a bbq he invites her to. He then invites her to his brother's party and she talks to the brother and was possibly going to date him, but once again Brady steps in and makes an excuse as to why she can't.

The next morning after a weird evening Jane sees Brady leaving Miranda's and she thinks Brady has been with Miranda all night.

I'm sure you can almost guess what happens next, but to be sure you will have to download Flirt! 5 Romantic Short Stories. I got mine from amazon.com for the kindle when it was free.

Thank you for reading. On to the next read. The next short story in Flirt!

Virginia Bloom

Okay, so after a weekend of non-stop running for birthday parties and the last couple of days of trying to read the kindle download of Virginia Bloom by S.N. Clemens, I feel a little worn out. I am so worn out by all the running that I couldn't even come up with a funky title for this post.

As for the book...

I have to say at first I just couldn't get in to it. For one it is a religious type romance, so not my thing being that I am not a religious person, at least not in that form. In the end though it does tell a good story about finding the person to be in love with.

I have to say I like the romantic gestures that Mason did for Rachel without telling her of his feelings. He had loved her since the year before and was waiting for her to come to terms of being in love with him, which felt she would. He through some hints, but nothing literal. He wanted to be sure she would return the feelings he felt for her. As the book tells everyone but Rachel knew she was in love with Mason.

If you are religious and struggling with the fact that you're not falling in love like you want to, then this is a definite read. I guess even if you aren't religious it would be good to get you through the hard time of waiting for the perfect man or woman, if you are a guy that reads romance novels.

Just remember as you are reading my blog this is my opinion on the books I read. I don't get the information from anywhere else other than what I read. I also interpret the book the way I see and read it. Just like you may read the same book and feel something else and interpret it another way.

I want to thank you for reading. I will take any comments, questions, or recommendations. Watch for the next one which will be Flirts!5 Romantic Short Stories - by Lisa Scott. This book for the kindle is 5 short romance stories in one book. As I finish one I might review it or wait until I read all 5 and review. Not sure but I will review it one way or another. Thank you once again for reading!

As promised - Jump When Ready

Yeah, so I started Jump When Ready - David Pandolfe this morning after returning home from dropping my oldest off at his pre-k program, and did a few thing like get my youngest breakfast, paying for an order, as I am an Avon rep, and placing my next order, before getting lost in yet another book. Now you might as how is that I can read while I have a toddler at home running around? Well, let me just say both my kids are independent and tend to want to do things on their own. No, I don't make them fend for everything themselves. I turn on cartoons, meaning PBS channel and my daughter gets so engrossed into the shows. In fact, I am not usually engrossed that much into the book as I usually am going back and forth between reading and listening to my 22 month old trying to sing along with the songs on the shows. So no I don't get disconnected from my children. I don't get really engrossed until after I pick my son up from school and put my daughter down for a nap and my son takes over the cartoons. So in no way do I total disconnect from the world around me, although some times I wish I could.

Aside from that I am here to tell my thoughts on this book.

So this is about a 14 year old boy named Henry. He drowns do to going into a river in his home town when the rapids are really bad after it raining for a long period of time. So he goes to what the author says is the afterlife. More the next life we go to. He meets an eclectic bunch of kids close to his age in this so-called afterlife.

This is about rebirth, something I kind of believe in. He finds himself with sitting next to his sister that from his living life and is with as she is abducted. He tries what he thinks is the best way for his family to get them to them about where she might be. He almost becomes what they call a ghost, which is what we think of as ghosts. It was due to one of the other kids, Curtis, that helps him come out of it and not become that.

So he enlists the help of Jamie and Nikki, 2 of his friends to figure out how to help his sister. They find ways to with their abilities that they find they have and try to get into the mind of the kidnappers and also a police officer. Henry talks to his sister, also with her help after rescuing her, he finds away to let his mom and dad know he is still with them in spirit.

My thoughts, were at first, I didn't see what kind of lesson this teaches. A lot of books, especially good ones, have a lesson to be learned, or they want to get information into peoples hands to either help themselves or those around them. It took me a little bit, but I think I finally figured out. I think it is trying to say that even when our loved ones leave us they can still be with us. Also, if you are one the believes in reincarnation, then maybe everyone and everything that is in our lives we have had before. We continue to walk almost the same path with the same people in a different time. I have in fact learned this before from some of my romance novels that deal with people falling in love when they time travel back in time.

I can say that this a pretty good book. I may not read it again, but I think I will always remember it. It might just be one of those books that even if you read it once it will always be with you.

That is all for now. As I will be busy for the next few days, I won't have anything new posted. Have a wonderful weekend, and Happy Mother's Day to all the momma's out there that may have a glimpse of my blog. I shall hopefully have something Monday or Tuesday night for you. This will be my only post tonight. Although I can say my next read will be whatever the first thing is on my kindle, which I think is a romance, the adult ones not a YA romance. In fact, I glanced at it and it is Virginia Bloom - S.N. Clemens.

Thank you for reading, questions, comments, recommendations welcome.

Next on my list

My next read is going to be Jump When Ready - David Pandolfe. It is a young adult, and from what I have located in my quick research it is centered for ages 13 to 17. I'm all for anything that is just a good read. So here we go with another YA.

All I know is that it is about a boy named Henry, who drowned and hangs close to his friends, and is trying to figure out why.

I'm not sure how this one will be, but I have seen that it has go a collective 5 start rating from those who have read it. A little YA/fantasy. Just by the reviews it is another one that can't be put down. I got mine from amazon and hopefully it will quit giving me problems and I can open it soon to read it, tomorrow that is.

If I have time that is. I have a busy weekend a head. Lots of ball games of my nieces and nephews. My son has a party to attend of one of his classmates, plus his own party. Also getting ready for my son to turn 5 in one week. It is also mother's day on Sunday. So, if I don't get a chance to get it read and get on here and share with you, I have forewarned you. With it being ball season, even though my own child is not playing, I have to be out there supporting my family.

Thank you for reading. Questions, comments, and recommendations welcome!

Alexis - What about her?

Okay, so lovely readers, last night I told you I would be reading the eBook, kindle download, Alexis - Marian Gard  starting today. Well, low-and-behold I finished t already. It is 37 chapters plus the Epilogue. I have to say, the reviews I read weren't far from the truth. They all said it was a good book and that she should write more.

Well, I have to agree. It was very good. Could be almost great. I give it 4.5 stars. Keep in mind this a young adult/contemporary romance. there is not a bunch of sex in this. So if that is what you are looking for then this is not a book for you. I am a big romance readers, and I love a good sex scene. I also like when a book is more than sex.

Okay this book is about a collage student, Alexis, and her journey to find love. It starts off with her being in bed with her ex-boyfriend, who she had a one night stand after being separated for 2 or 3 months. Her roommates try and set her up numerous times, even one, Meg, tried to get Alexis to meet her brother. Along the way they finally meet and a bunch of crazy thing happen. A friendship almost torn to shreds, and her brother revealing big news and then having a hard time after spilling his news. Some jealousy, some crying, some broken hearts. There are plenty of ups and downs. The best part is the end. The end is the happiest. Not only for Alexis and her opposite, Grayson, but also for her brother.I won't spill the ending for anyone who has this book on their wish list to read, or is reading it now.

I can say I will be saving this kindle book in my collections. It is a good reference and a lot of inspiration for writing my own. No I don't copy what they write, it just helps reading other YA novels for inspiration. I haven't come close to finding anything will resemble what I am writing. Not yet anyway. I'm sure there is something out there, but I just haven't found it yet.

Aside from that, I recommend this as a read. Maybe a book club read, or just for fun. If a school offers the same kind of class that I had in high school where you get to sit in class for that hour period  and read whatever you like and have to answer questions and discuss with the teacher the book you read. Kind of like a book club, but not since those in the class don't all read the same books. I can't remember exactly what my high school called the class as it has been about 11 years since I have been in high school and taken the class.

So pick your kindle, nook, or whatever tablet you have for an e-reader and get this book downloaded and read it. You won't want to put it down. I can just about promise. I can't completely promise, since not everyone has the same tastes in reading material, but this is a good, very good book.

Thank you for reading, questions are welcome, as are comments, and recommendations are desired. Once again thank you!

Next read - maybe inspiration

Okay, so I have opened a new book on my kindle called Alexis by Marian Gard. I am kind of excited to read this in hopes it will give me some inspiration for my own writing and I'm not talking about this blog. Aside from this and my 2 home businesses I have I also have been writing, what I hope is a decent enough to be published. Hopefully one day everyone out there will get to read it.

Anyway, Alexis is a young adult romance novel. At least that is what i found when searching what genre the book was from. If you haven't noticed most of what I like is either young adult or romance, or even both together. I did have 2 books that I read that were young adult fantasy romance.

So as far as I can tell it seems it will be a good read. When I finish it I will review more, maybe even in the middle. The website that I got some information on called Goodreads.com has ratings and most of what I seen says that those who have read it liked enough to give a rating of 4 stars. The average is 4.0 stars. I can say that just because a lot of people like doesn't mean everyone will like it.

I will read and find out myself. That is how it has to be with anyone who likes, no loves, books as much as I do. I downloaded my copy of the book free from Amazon.com, the only place I download books from. Mine are mostly free books I download so most may not be as good as those big authors that everyone reads. Plus these author may still be trying to get their names out there.

As a blogger I am making it my mission to let everyone know what I thought was good, so those have similar interests in what I read can decide if they want to read it as well. Not everyone will enjoy some things I like, like I won't enjoy some books some people recommend me to read.

If you think I can give a good enough advice what might be good about a read follow the blog so you can keep informed. I will also take an comments about what book you might have liked and want me to read. If by chance you have read this book let me know what you thought about it, don't tell me all about it for I like to find out that kind of stuff myself and don't like it to be spoiled for me.

Thank you for reading. Hopefully, I will have something more for you in a day or 2 one this book!

Do I prefer the sunrise?

Okay, so I just finished reading a book called I Prefer the Sunrise by Anna Rea Aberle. It was an okay read. Not something I would read again if I didn't have to. This is my opinion. You would have to read it yourself to make your own opinion of it.

First off, if you are going to give a character green eyes, don't 4 chapters later change that same characters eye color to blue. There is a thing called pen and paper. Write down the characters in you story line and a short biography on how you want them to be portrayed to the readers. Another thing I hate how things skip around a lot. Maybe it is because I know when I talk I tend to start on one story and something distracts me in the story to start another, then some how I get myself back to the original story, just to be sidetracked again.

Okay so this book is about a woman, Alicia Riverdale. She moves with a boyfriend from Colorado to California. She gets a job with a magazine company and ends up moving out of the place that she and her boyfriends shares with another couple. At a Holiday party with that so-called boyfriend she meets Gregory Vincent. She starts dating him and then four shorts months after they start dating he is killed in a bicycle accident. She has some ups and downs in her grieve for him. It takes her about ten years before she gets her feet back on the ground, and finds love again.

Other than a type of romance novel, I'm not sure exactly which genre of romance this book would fall in. It was definitely good, but not great. It would be classified with the ones I think are awesome writers, but it is a good read.

I think this book shows that no matter how long you know the person, you still have the right to grieve. I also think it shows a way that some people grieve. May not be a good way to grieve, but some people grieve the way the main character grieves in this book over the loss of someone she had come to love in such a short time.

Another thing I think this book shows is that no matter what you have to follow your dreams. Doesn't matter how old you get, always steam ahead to follow your dreams, and no matter obstacles get thrown in your path you just have to pick yourself up and keep going.

There is a notes section or questions section at the end, at least there is on the kindle version, not sure if there is a print version, for book clubs. This might be something for a book club to read. Just an idea.

I did download this book onto my kindle. At the time I downloaded it it was free. Can't say for sure if it still is. Always worth a minute to check Amazon's website in the kindle downloads to find out. Remember if you don't have a kindle, and still want to enjoy the downloads, you can download the pc version on their website. You will still get the same stuff as a regular kindle. Not the kindle fire though. Then if you ever break down and buy the kindle you can have all those books that is in your library on your pc synced with your kindle device.

Thank you for reading and I hope you continue to enjoy. Now on to the next read. Not sure if I will start with the first book on my kindle or if I will venture further into the 197 pages of books I downloaded on my kindle device and find something there. Once again thank you for reading. Feel free to follow to keep updated with what I read. Even subscribe to get all the latest updates about what book I have read.

More Vampires

Okay, so most people have read the Twilight Saga, I know I have. So I just started this new series written by a different author. Her name is Deb Apodaca. The series is called The Affliction Series. So far there are only 2 books out and there is possibly a 3rd coming this summer. The first is called Captivated, the 2nd is Untainable.

In these books it starts out with a prologue of the girl, Mindy, and a young boy, Dean, both about 13 years of age. Dean finds his parents murdered. After that he then distances himself away from everyone including his best friend, Mindy.

It goes through the motions of her hating him and not hating him. Then she realizes she is in love with him. He pushes her away yet again. She does one thing that could show him her love for him. What she doesn't know is she lives in a world that she never knew existed. She thought the lad of vampires was made up. That they were not real. She found out the hard way they were real.

To find out what happens to Mindy and Dean you have to read both books and wait for the next one to come out. I got mine for free download on the Kindle from www.amazon.com. Remember if you don't have a kindle device you can download the free pc kindle download. Not sure if they are still free on there or not. You can also you to the website for the series which is www.theafflictionsries.com. It will have the E-book downloads. I don't know how much they are on there. I think I seen something for $10.95 or something like that. This is a YA fantasy romance novel.

Just so you know these vampires don't sparkle and not all can come out in the day time. I prefer sparkly vampires more though.

Once again thank you for reading. I hope you enjoy these books as much as I did and watch for the next one in the series. Not sure what it will be called yet, or when it will actually come out. Thank you!
